Hi  All,

I am trying to install MUI  on my windows xp professional machine for
supporting
Indian languages like Telugu  , Hindi

But when I see Multilingual User Interface pack CD it contains the following
links only.

Windows® XP Multilingual User Interface Pack, Disc 1
(French, German, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese)

Windows® XP Multilingual User Interface Pack, Disc 2
(Arabic, Dutch, Hebrew, Italian, Portuguese-Brazil, Spanish, Swedish)

Windows® XP Multilingual User Interface Pack, Disc 3
    (Czech, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Russian)

Windows® XP Multilingual User Interface Pack, Disc 4
    (Greek, Hungarian, Polish, Portuguese-Portugal, Turkish)

Windows® XP Multilingual User Interface Pack, Disc 5
(Bulgarian, Croatian, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Romanian, Slovak,
Slovenian, Thai)

Which MUI pack I need to install to support Indian languages?
Will there be any other MUI packs other than these ?

I checked FAQ's in the following links.

http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/DrIntl/faqs/winxp.mspx

http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/DrIntl/faqs/Muifaq.mspx

In one question it is saying it support telugu language.
what that means? How it will support?

How many languages does Windows XP support?
Windows XP adds 9 new languages to the impressive list of languages
supported by Windows 2000:

Divehi – Maldives
Galician – Spain
Gujarati – India
Kannada – India
Kyrgyz (Cyrillic) – Republic of Kyrgyzstan
Mongolian (Cyrillic) – Mongolia
Punjabi (Gurmukhi) – India
Syriac – Syria
Telugu – India

I appreciate if some one can guide me in right direction.

Thank you
Kumar

There is no MUI pack that exists right now with Telugu or Hindi.

There are partial localizations known as LIPs (language interface packs), as
described here:

http://blogs.msdn.com/michkap/archive/2005/02/10/370460.aspx

There are LIPs for many languages, including Hindi.

Please visit http://www.bhashaindia.com/ and read the articles, tutorials
and forum messages.

There is no MUI for Telugu. Telugu LIP for Office 2003 is available. LIP for
Windows XP is yet to be released.

Regards,
Pavanaja
