Hi All,

I am developing small application for my client.
This application needs Interface in all major Indian languages such as
Telugu,hindi  etc.
I added telugu resource file to my application.  But When I am trying to
type some text in telugu it's not appearing.  It's appearing in english only.

How can I type telugu letters using english key board??
Do I need to install any font?
Do I need to change any operating system settings?

Please help me.
Thanks
Kumar

If you have Windows XP, you will get a keyboard and font you can use for
Telugu....

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your reply.

I have windows xp operating system.
How to set/install  telugu font.

Basically I should be able to type telugu letters  in  application Resource
files.
When I open already developed sample application in visual studio.net , In
resource file it is showing telugu font, but when I click there to edit it is
showing as squares.

Please direct me correct knowledge base  regarding these fonts, resource
files stuff.

Squares do not mean the text is gone, they mean the font that the resource
editor is using cannot handle the characters. It is also known as the "NULL
glyph", what the font shows when it does not now what to show.

Your text is still there, and still valid.

Hi Michael,

I agree. Text is still there.
But I want to change the label text  to other word in telugu language?
How can I achieve that?
If user (Telugu language user) types in text box it should appear in telugu
only?
How can I achieve that?
This is the application I  downloaded.

When I am in that situation, I usually do the following:

1) Cut the text to the clipboard (select and hit Ctrl+X or use your favorite
method)
2) Paste into notepad (hit Ctrl+V or use your favorite method)
3) Edit the text as appropeiate
4) Cut the text from notepad
5) Paste it back into the field

This is not a matter of getting a font -- you have one, built into the
operating system. But sometimes there is a bug in an application. There is
no need to for new downloads, as they will not help.

What you want is to make sure you have complex script support enabled. If
you do not then not even the above steps will work and you may not see
correct shaping even in Notepad....
