Hi,

I'm about to download the Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2 development tool and I'm
wondering which one I should download, the professional or standard. It is
not clear to me what the difference is. The "Overview of Visual Studio 2008"
does not seem to indicate what the difference is and I can't seem to find a
FAQ on the topic. Aside from being over 4 times the size, what is the
difference between the two?

Thanks,
Thomas Magma

I believe Professional has unit testing in whereas Standard doesn't.
I'd expect to see more designers and the like in the Professional
edition. I know that the Professional edition includes the MSDN
installation - I don't know about Standard on that score.

If you've got a fast enough connection and enough disk space, I'd go
with Professional, at least for the beta.

Sure why not. I'm downloading the 3.13 GB file as we speak. Everyone around
me is wondering why the internet is so slow today. :)
