Is there any difference in the usability in the "Academic" version of Visual
Studio.Net, compared to the "Professional" version.  I'm interested in
learning computer programming, but I would like for whatevery I'm desinging
to work without any restrictions.

What exactly is the difference between the two, besides the cost?
Thanks for any info.

Hi Joe,

To my knowledge the only difference is that you are not allowed to profit
from any code you create in the Academic version, ie sell your code.

Do you know if there's any kind of upgrade deal? Otherwise there's not a lot
of point selling it to individuals at all, since it becomes contrary to the
license the moment a person leaves education.

it is not only a licensing difference.
afaik, there is no upgrade deal.

selling it to individuals still makes sense though, if the individual uses
it for training, fun, or maybe even volunteer work.  I don't know, though,
because I am Not a Lawyer.
