i am very nw user of visual studio. i am trying to install visual studio in my laptop . i have tried several times but there is always some problem or the other. i woud like to to give me a good link where i can install visual studio 2008 and list of all the components which is needed to install for it. For either VS 2005 or VS 2008, just run the installation. You can install the trial off of http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio. If you want it long term, try the Express versions. They are also available at the same location. As far as what you have to have installed: .NET Framework 2.0 .NET Framework 3.0 .NET Framework 3.5 - will install the above two if not present, I believe Visual Studio In fact, if you run the DVD install (trial or full (MSDN) version), it will install all of these. I had problems installing VS2008 myself. I downloaded it from MSDN and burned it on a DVD. It turned out that the DVD I created had read errors. Try to burn the DVD with a lower speed.
