Maybe this will help:

#GettingStarted

Just FYI: asking questions like this here doesn't make much sense.  This
is a Usenet newsgroup, and there are a wide variety of ways that each
person may be accessing the newsgroup.

You appear to be using Microsoft's web portal (which is why I provided
the above link), but other people may be using other web portals, or
(more commonly) standalone newsreaders or messaging applications.  The
answer to your question is different for each of these applications, and
is best asked and answered in a general support forum for the individual
application.

Asking in the newsgroup itself doesn't make any sense because it's not
the newsgroup you need help with; it's the tools you are using the
newsgroup with that you need help with.

Just as you would not (I hope) send email to everyone in your address
book asking how to use your new email program, you should not post a
message to a newsgroup asking how to use your newsreader (unless, of
course, that newsgroup is specifically about how to your
newsreader...this newsgroup does not fall into that category).

Peter - Yes - I am out of place.  You see - The forums are so deep that I am
unable to just find a simple  group of folks who will look at my post and
respond.  Before I upgraded to AOL 9 I ALWAYS had a "basic" forum for "basic"
questions and a place where we shared info.  (even I had info to share at
THAT level)   I am not sure how I wounded up here ....   but I'll back my
hiney up and get the heck out.  If you see me typing around here again - just
turn me around... and I thank you Pete for taking the time, and not talking
UP to me.

I'm also VERY embarrassed - sort of feel like I walked into the wrong rest
room !!!!  Now that I see my post in this environment it is silly.

By a search, I found your original under:
  microsoft.public.office.developer.officedev.other
When you posted your first, you had the above open.
When you posted your second, you had the following open:
  microsoft.public.dotnet.framework

This forum is for .net developers.  Unless I'm missing something, the
content of your first post is off topic for this forum.  You are unlikely to
get a substantive answer.  Regardless, good luck.

Yet another good reason to not be posting questions like this here.  I
think it's likely that if she couldn't find her post in the
...officedev.other newsgroup in the first place, she's probably not
going to easily find her more recent post and our answers here in this
newsgroup.

We can hope, but it somehow seems unlikely.  :(

Wow, up tight people! Like I gotta a clue how to do this. I was trying to
find my post and found this one...All I wanted was some help cause I screwed
up my computer and apparently the only way to get it these days is to pay
microsoft alot or understand the guts of this baby and be talked down to.!!!
Bought first computer from Gateway. They were GREAT! Bought this one at Best
Buy and the Geek Squad wants lots of bucks, too. I'm screwed!!!
