dotnet framework 1.1 and screen flicker

I think I've narrowed a problem I'm having down to the 1.1 version of
the .net framework.

I've got an issue where software clients will display a lot of flicker
on the screen.  About ever 10 seconds these clients will distort, with
the text of the client being overlayed about 6 pixels down and 6 to
the right.  So I end up with a double image for a half second or so.
It's not always about 6 pixels.  Sometimes more, sometimes less.

This happens in WSUS 3.0 admin console, it happens in Surfcontrol
5.5sp2 console (.NET framework 1.1 is used here)  and it happens in
other consoles.  But only those that appear to use the .NET framework.

I initially removed my nVidia drivers, rebooted, installed the latest
version.  No help.   I removed all versions of .net from 1.1 to 3.0
(left 1.0)    and I went in and cleaned up left over registry and file/
directories per documents I'd found.

After the initial re-install of 1.1, the problem was somewhat muted.
However after Automatic Updates patched the .NET framework, the
problem came back.    I've been having this problem for about a month.

Is this a know issue?  Is there a workaround?  Some settings file I
missed on the un-install?   The flicker in .NET makes these clients un-
usable.

Thanks;

Edwin.

After much work, I have finally figured it out.  I put my system into
debug and closed down most everything un needed.

I looked at many leads which ended up not being the fault.  Then I
started to notice the Microsoft Intellipoint 6.1 process each time
during the flicker.

I ended the process and the flickering quit.   I uninstalled, re-
downloaded 6.1, reinstalled and same flickering.  I've been running
without this software for several days now and no flickering.

My guess is that the software that lets me center click and see all
active processes as thumbnails is the root of the problem.

Posted hoping this will help others.
