I build a website solution by using visual studio 2005, how can I build the
"release" version, because I just find the "debug" in the IDE and it seems
it's necessary to append the configuration manually.

Here are the contents of 2 files.  One is a .bat, one is a .txt.

--start BuildReleaseWebSite.bat (do not include this line)

@echo off
ECHO     When/If prompted with the question:
ECHO .

ECHO     Does ".........." specify a file name or directory name on the
target
ECHO     (F = file, D = directory)?
ECHO _
ECHO     You should answer with "D" for  directory.

ECHO     When/If prompted with the question:

ECHO     Overwrite (...........)
ECHO     (Yes/No/All)?
ECHO _
ECHO     You should answer with "A" for "All"

@echo on

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe"
MyCompany.Applications.MyFirstApplication.sln /Rebuild Release

XCOPY .\Presentation.Web1\*.*
c:\wutemp\ReleaseBuild_Web_MyCompany_Applications_MyFirstApplication
/EXCLUDE:.\exclude.txt /e/s

copy this into "exclude.txt" and do not include this line
.pdb
Build_WebSite.bat
Build_WinForms.bat
exclude.txt
.sln
.vbproj
.csproj

alter the paths and filenames (for your .sln) as needed.
run the .bat file

Hello isamusetu,

Btw, the VS 2005 (at least with SP1) has the release option in the dropdown
list of the solution configuration

    you should in the web.config define debug to false, it's true by
default. Until then, you will get debug builds of your website.
