Hi,
I downloaded the SyncToy program from the Microsoft site and am trying to
install it. It says that it requires .Net Framework v 1.1.4322. It directed
me to the MS site which shows that the latest version of .Net Framework is
2.0. So I downloaded that (I'm on a dialup line and that took about 1 hr). I
installed v2.0. However the SyncToy program still wants v 1.1.4322???
Are the versions downward compatible?
Do you have to install a special version of the Framework for every program???
Is the some way to tell the install program for SyncToy (setup.msi) that I
have a current version of .Net Framework?
Or do I have to install multiple versions of the Framework???

Do you have the URL where your download came from? I cannot find it in MSDN
Downloads (doesn't mean it's not there).
If it's an older program, the installer may not be v2.0-aware.
Brute force answer: download and install:

Hi Norm,
I ran into this problem before. The answer is that SyncToy is not written
for .NET 2.0; it requires 1.1. So, you will have to install both until the
Developers update SyncToy to the 2.0 Framework.
To get the older Framework, you'll need the redistributable package:

Hope this helps.
