I am trying to upgrade to .Net 2.0 from 1.1 using Windows XP Pro. When the
install gets to the point of 'Configuring Microsoft .Net' it just hangs there
and never completes the install. I have tried to uninstall 1.1 but when the
programs get to the same point, it also hangs. i have to manually kill the
processes. Can anyone help me overcome this problem and get the new version
installed, I need this upgraded to run another program.

Thanks!

This worked for me, trying killing INETINFO when the install process hangs
and see if that helps.  On my PC, this appeared to help, I'm not sure what
happened, but something appeared to stop the install process from being able
to restart IIS as part of the final steps.  I'm pretty sure there was an
entry in the event log that pointed me to this.

You should not have a problem with installing 2.0 on a machine with 1.1.
Basically, 1.1 and 2.0 co-exist on the same machine.

If the problem continues try re-installing the whole system. Always works
for me.
