No error number.  Just says failed install.

Same for 1.1 & 2.0

Ensure you have version 3.1 of the windows installer.  dotNet 2.0 requires
this and doesn't tell you why it is failing.

I installed windows installer 3.1

Same results for 1.1 & 2.0

I had .net on the computer last year & removed it since it was never needed.
I just purchased a program now that needs it.
Could the control panel un-install have left something to prevent a
re-install?

Thanks,

Which version of the framework.  If it was Beta 2.0, search MS for
instructions on removing the beta and hope they work.  I had to reformat to
remove Beta 2.0.

Use the W2000 CD & install all the network options.  A file is missing.
Then install .net 1.1
