Hi,

my applications are running on the old framework 1.0.2914.
Now I need the new framework:
Must I update the framework or can I install and run both of them?
Does the old application run in the new framework?
What is the best approch?

Thank you very much.

You can install multiple versions of the Framework on the same computer so
that each application can run with the version it was build for. It is also
possible to change the application configuration to run with a later
framework (or even sometimes a previous version) but it requires testing for
possible breaking changes.

So unless the one who provided the application say so, your best bet is just
to install the new version  that will then be available as well as any other
already existing version...

Thank you very much for the answer.
It asks me to ueinstall the old framework during insatlling the new one.
As it seems, it is not possible to insall the new framework without
ueinstalling the old one, is it?

Ok, as http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318785/EN-US/ doesn't mention the
version you are talking about, it's likely a 1.0 .NET Framework beta
software that you can uninstall to replace by the "real" one (or all those
you need)...

When installing beta software, keep this in mind so that you can switch to
final once final is out.
