What are the keys you need to destroy and then the dirs that can be removed
to get rid of beta 2005 both in VS and SS?

My dev laptop won't accept VS2005 nor SS2005.

I tied the removal using the tools they referenced but noooooooo!  That
didn't work and the tools are gone to complete the removal of all the other
fluff that pops in the beta installs.

TIA

that's exactly what yoyu have to do if you want to install VS2005.
You cannot remove only pat of the betas, you should remove them all.
Otherwise, no luck.

Thanks Lloyd, I understand that per my subject line.

I have tried to uninstall the betas for both VS & SQL.  Most parts are out
but the few remaining won't leave because the uninstallers are removed?  Or
because M$ had their heads up Google's backside?  Or because Ballmer stopped
jumping up and down, I don't know.

The removal process was a failure.  Should I reinstall the beta to remove it
again?

Backup your data and insert your OS CD.  Restart, press the spacebar when
prompted to boot from CD.  Format the drive and reinstall.  Plan on lots of
coffee (or a copy of War and Peace).

I ran into a similar problem when uninstalling the betas for VS 2005 and SS
2005.  To fix it, I reinstalled everything back and then I found a listing
on the MSDN website that stated the order that should be followed to
uninstall the betas completely.
