You know from where you downloaded don't you? As far as I know you can
(legaly) only download it from the MS site, and there it should be stated
that it's the "August CTP" release. A Community Technology Preview release
is an interim beta release (here a post Beta2 release) certainly not the
final version (announced release date Nov 7th).

I wish I could remember where I found it.
I may have done a search for "dotnetfx" on a P2P network, or something like
that.
Seems version 2 has been in beta for quite a while.
Any estimated time of release for the final version? (Maybe waiting for
Vista?)

I believe the release date for VS 2005 and .NET 2 is sometime in
November (November 5th?).
