Howdy all.

New install of XP Pro on new machine...so please be gentle I'm kinda a noob
with XP.

XP Pro SP2
FrontPage 2003
IIS 5.0 with FP 2002 Extensions installed (all above working fine)
.NET Framework 1.0.3

Trying to install QuickBooks Pro which required updating Framework to 1.1

Downloaded Framework 1.1 and trying to install:

Gets to a point where it trys to shut down Service: IIS Admin
Then stalls...eventually a popup error:
"Error 1921: IIS Admin (iisasmin) could not be stopped. Verify you have
suff. priviledges to stop system services"

I haven't set up Users on XP Pro...still operating as Admin..and I'm
uncertain exactly what/where/how to stop IIS Admin services so I can finish
the update...so I can finish installing QB.

I probably shouldn't have tried this till I was more comfortable with this
new XP GUI...sheesh..I can't find anything!

TIA,

Rob

So now I have TWO Frameworks? The 1.0.3 and the 1.1...I would have thought
with all that bumping and grinding that 1.1 would have updated rather than
installed itself separately??

Is this correct, or do I need to now uninstall 1.03...which with my luck
will totally wack things.

You actually want both.  That way when you run a program that uses 1.0
you have it and if they want 1.1 you got it.

Just be careful which is registered with IIS
