I recently purchased a new Gateway Computer with Vista Microsoft.  I prefer
and have purchased Nortan Anti Virus system.  McAfee continues to pop-up
requesting that I use their software which I do not want.  Can anyone tell me
how to stop this pop-up?

1) Deinstall the McAfee software.

I've never installed the McAfee software - it keeps popping up to install it,
but I do not want it. Do not know how to deinstall if not installed.. Thanks.
