ive heard that its possible to make any downloads password protected (to keep
my kids from downloading programs without our permission) as well as
files/applications.  basic question, i know, but its becoming a problem and
ive exhausted my limited knowledge of windows xp professional :(  help would
be most appreciated

Try posting your question to a Windows newsgroup instead of a .Net
Programming newsgroup.

Thanks,

Try Kidswatch.com - the stuff is great for limiting kids use of the PC.  you
can stop installations, limit them to only certain hours of each day and
limit which applications they can use.  It can even filter the internet and
show you where they surf when online.

Grades bad?  Eliminate the games from their list of applications until they
are better.  Restrict them to only 2 hours a day on the PC.  It's a great
motivational tool!

www.kidswatch.com - I install it for my customers with kids all the time.
