Is anyone using the old Matrox Parhelia (or any other) cards that
supposedly offered hardware acceleration of GDI+?  If so, I'd like to
hear your comments on the performance.

Although these cards are old, I have a 2d graphics intensive demo
application that will only need to run on a few demo systems that I
build.  I'm thinking about picking up a few of these old cards in an
effort to get the zippiest performance possible.

Thanks.

Alas I don't have one. I dropped lots of hints to Matrox that they might
like to let me test drive one but to no avail.

Hey Bob,

Didn't you have some Matrox card that accellerated GDI+ at some
point?  I seem to recall you mentioning it in a post...

I've seen a couple of posts where people mentioned having GDI+
problems with Matrox cards and have found none that speak to it's
success in accelerating GDI+.  This makes me question whether the GDI+
acceleration actually works...

Thanks.

Yes I have one but not the model you cite.

I don't use it anymore because I upgraded my PC to one with a more modern
motherboard and the old cards no longer fit in the holes ;-)

I don't even remember the model, I think I possibly put it in a machine used
by one of my children for a while. An ignominious end for the poor beast.
