Dear Microsoft,

Do you think it might have been useful to mention in the Updater
Application Blocks documentation that NT is not a supported platform
for BITS (on which Updater Blocks depends)?

BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Service) is required for
downloading components via the Updater block. However, this windows
service is not installed on Windows NT.

So much for application interoperability in dot net.

In the "BITSDownloader Class Design" section of the Updater Application
Block documentation, under "Design Goals, Tradeoffs, and Issues" it clearly
says:

"A major issue resulting from the decision to rely on BITS is that use of
the downloader is limited to platforms on which BITS is supported. BITS is
currently supported on Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows 2003 Server."

Apparently they did find it useful to include this information...
