Updater Block on Win 98

Can I use the Updater block on a Win98 machine that has the 1.1 Framework
installed?

The documentation says that WinXP is the only OS that is supported.  It
seems like it should be based more on the Framework version than on the os
version though.

Thanks,

Chris

The AUP relies on BITS (background intelligent transfer service), which
exists only on Windows 2000 and higher. It's not a framework thing.

Thanks Klaus,

I assume there is no version of BITS that can be installed on Win98 either?

BITS runs as a windows service which is not supported by the Win 9x family.
