Hello,

I developed an enterprise service- component with C#. The Assembly has no
dependencies to other resources. I have installed this component on a Windows
2003 Enterprise Server (.NET-Framework1.1 Sp1, System is up to date). Now I
want to bind a client-pc to this component. Therefore I have successfully
exported an application proxy.

When I install the .NET-Framework 1.1 with SP1, on another Windows2003 as a
desktop-pc, I can install the msi-file successfully and the ball in the
remote component is spinning.

Now I tried to install the application proxy to a Windows 2000 Prof. (System
is up to date, .NET Framework 1.1 SP1) pc (I have added the assembly to the
gac before I run the installation process). Here I got the following error:

German:
„Fehler beim Registrieren der COM+-Anwendung. Wenden Sie sich an das
Supportpersonal, um weitere Informationen zu erhalten.“

English.
“HelloServer (Application Proxy). Error registering COM+
Application. Contact your support personnel for more information”
(Translated from German, Without any error-number)

Now I tried to install the proxy over the proxy-import-wizard and got an
error too. There I could display the detail error message:

German:
Die Anwendungsdatei kann nicht gelesen werden. Entweder existiert dieses
Datei nicht, die Datei enthält ungültige Daten, oder beim zugriff auf die
Datei ist ein Lesefehler aufgetreten.

English:
The application file cannot be read.  Either this file does not exist, the
file contains invalid data, or with accessed the file a read error occured.

During the Install process I am logged on to the Windows system as
Administrator, so it can’t be a permissions problem. The remote server is
reachable and all Systems are up to date.

I tried to fix the problem by installing the Installer 3.0 (
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=5fbc5470-b259-4733-a914
-a956122e08e8&displaylang=en
). Without success.

Thanks for any help in advance !
