I was just trying to consume the simple HelloWorld webservice that
comes in Visual Studio 2005 with a simple ASP.NET WebSite.

We have created the web reference to the url that serves the
HelloWorld Service and have invoked the response ...

How do we call and post this "Hello World" response string from the
service inside the ASP.NET  Default.aspx.cs file?

Anyone have a simple example??

I've added an ASP.NET web-service, and an ASP.NET web application, and
added a web-reference using all the defaults.

My Default.aspx.cs can then use the service via:

using System;

namespace WebApplication1
{
   public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page
   {
       protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
       {
           using (localhost.Service1 svc = new localhost.Service1())
           {
               this.Title = svc.HelloWorld();
           }
       }
   }
}

(just to clarify - in real code "localhost" etc would be a bit better
named!)
