hi
I wrote a Class that has 1 inherited child class
this class loads row offsets into a 1 dim long array
i can traverse the text file via rows or if delimited columns or fixed with
columns i can define a structure (array of column names, type,size, len,
decimal

i would like to browse a file in a form
is Datagrid the control to use and if so...where can i find some good
examples on how to use it.....from what i seen so far...i need to build a
dataset of the text file into a table

MJ,

A dataset would work if you can get your data into it. The DataGrid
will also accept any class that implements the IList interface (using each
item returned by IList as a row in the grid), so it's really up to you. Of
course, there is more that you can do when it comes to data binding. For an
overview of the interfaces involved with data binding, check out the section
