afaics the mentioned virtual network driver does not require an installation of VirtualPC - it is just a prerequisite for the emulator (which is a virtual machine by itself). This network driver by itself is necessary to connect the emulator to the host via virtual network.

I doubt you'll find a recent standalone emulator that does work w/o the virtual network driver.

Let me add a little bit cause rereading my last msg I think I was a little bit unclear:

Iirc the virtual network driver is not a prerequisite for the installation of the emulator by itself. It is needed if you want to emulate a network connection to your host other than via DMA/ActiveSync.

So does the emulator setup refuse to install since the driver is missing of does it only give a warning?

I teststed the download from here :
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C62D54A5-183A-4A1E-A7E2
-CC500ED1F19A&displaylang=en

and installead  the Emulator, but the emulator has no images, so i installed
the inmages files,
but they need the SDK, and the SDk needs the Visual Studio, nod a good idea.

Remebering its for a customer, on my own machine it runs.

but on the downloadsite where just an other file: efp.msi, i downt know what
it is, but it is
in every case connected with an emulator an this file need during the
installation the Virtual
netword driver ore the installatio will immadiatly closed, without finishing

so my conclusion is i nee the virtual network driver or may be emultor
images without
the instal of the whoole SDk and VS - suff.
