Hi
I'm trying to let the user of a ppc press a button which will copy a
file from the pc to the ppc. The ppc is only connected via the cradle
and therefore uses Activesync 3.8.
I'm developing in VB.net 2003.

I'm been researching RAPI, but if I'm right this is only a pc program.

What is the best solution for this ?

Thanks

You should be able to access normal network share on the desktop PPC is
connected to.
Normal classes from System.IO would work if you use UNC path like
\\server\share\path\file.ext.

This method was my first try. You can only use the UNC path when a
wireless network is available. I'm only going to have the the
capabilities of a usb cradle.

It works fine with WM 5.0 device, I guess PPC 03 network emulation is not
good enough even though web server running on connected desktop can be
accessed.

By the way, why can't you do that from desktop side?

I was wanting the operator of the ppc to decide when to copy the file.
It does look like from reading other topics that what I'm after is not
available, I think the desktop side is the only method.

"You can only use the UNC path when a wireless network is available." -
Are you sure? IME when you have an Active Sync connection, you also get
a network connection of sorts over it, regardless of wireless network
capabilities.
