While doing a search on Google, I noticed that Serg Kuryata [MS], in
response to a previous post, apparently posted some code in C# concerning
transparent bitmaps. Yet I can't find that code anywhere. It
doesn't show up on Google, nor in my newsgroup reader (Mozilla). Maybe it
was posted as an attachement. Can anyone repost that code inside a plain
message inside this newsgroup?

Supposedly this was on Feb 10, 2004. Can anyone help? Thanks!

I was briefly looking into this the other day for Smartphone and came upon
this article (did not try it yet). Serg Kuryata features there as well,
don't know if this is what you are looking for though.

Chris,
Nope, the item in question was how to load a GIF image, extract the
transparent color out of it and set the SetColorKey to make the GIF
transparent (like in a browser). The technique is supposed works in all SPs.
Supposedly there was an attachment of C# code, but I can't find it anywhere!

During my quest I found numerous examples, all sort of the same, none
explicitly showing how to extract the transparent color - they all sort of
use pixel (0,0) as the transparent color - which may make sense I guess,
chances are pretty good that this pixel will be the transparent color.

Browse to this link, look for "Graphics" then "How do I draw an image with
transparency". Lots of other handy stuff there too.

Thanks Chris,
I already know all that stuff, but supposedly Serg posted actual code for
reading a transparent GIF...I'd prefer not to have to rely on the 0,0 hack.
Anyone know Serg's email?

Thanks Paul,

Here is a link from Google Groups to the thread...

Apparently, there is one post missing, the one with the code. However, it
looks like I need PNG transparency anyway, I'll be checking this next.

Sorry.  Don't have anything back that far and the thread no longer exists on
news.microsoft.com.
