Using the CLR profiler Api

Dear All,
  I would like to use the CLR profiler api to code my own profiler
and log it...how to do I start...do I have to write a COM dll that
needs to be registered on the client machine that will recieve the
callbacks...
Is there some tutorial from where to start with?
Please help...
