while installing an VisualPerl-vs2003-1.8.1.2827.msi I get the following error

"devenv.exe - mscoree.dll load error (Error code = %X)

Two different copies of MSCOREE.DLL have been loaded

First copy
<Unknown

Second Copy
C:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v1.1.4322\mscorwks.dl

This is typically caused by having a registered MSCOREE.DLL that i
different from the one that is statically linked with the application.

I also get this error when I open a .chm file and the installer goes to add something from VStudio instal

Any idea why/how this happens

This is most likely the result of a bad Visual Studio
install. I contacted ActiveState and they have not seen
this behaviour with their product.

The best thing to do is to try re-installing VS and VP.
You should be good to go at that point.

thanks -- rich
