I love OLE controls. I have an application I wrote in VB 6 using the OLE control, I need to upgrade it to .NET but there is no OLE controls in .NET. HHHHHEEEEELLLPPPP!

Anybody Please!!!

Hi Noel!

This pretty advanced stuff! There are no simple OleContainer implementations
available for .Net yet. You may know AxHost but it barely hosts some basic
ActiveX controls. Full OLE interop is tough and complicated due to several
undefined (or better said ambigous) behaviour of hosted apps - MS had this
problem before releasing .Net and dropped Ole container after disappointing
beta trials. Personally I wrote Ole container in .Net but it is still not
ready for release and some features do not work properly yet (in particular
when hosting Office apps). It is real pain to get everything working
correctly with full set of apps I want to interoperate. Currenlty since
Whidbey is postponed my project will get some additional attention - as
Whidbey will include Ole Container for .Net but not earlier than far next
year.

For more unfo check my posts in other threads

Hope this helps.

Jacek

You may have more luck posting this on
microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.windowsforms, as the Winforms Forms
product group looks at that one.
