Is there any possible way to upload a file into an image field in SQL
Server asynchronously?
Our users upload a lot of large files into a SQL Server, and we have no
way of showing them progress. ADO had an "AppendChunk" method, but it
doesn't look like .Net has anything similar. This seems like a big
oversight to me...

Take a look at SqlParameter.Offset. This does seem clunkier to me than
AppendChunk.

SqlParameter.Offset is what I was looking for... thanks!

If showing progress would solve your problem take a look at the progress bar in
.NET 2005. It has a marquee setting that keeps the blocks in a progress bar
moving like marquee until you tell it to stop (at the end of the upload).
Good luck with your project,
