Let's start with some basic information.
Are you referring to a situation where you are trying to run dual displays
off one computer, or are your trying to feed a single display from two
computers via a KVM switch (KVM = Keyboard, Video,Mouse)?
Once you give us details of the situation and your hardware configuration,
please tell us what OS you are running on the computer(s) and what version.
As it is a display problem, please provide chipset on the video card(s) and
what driver version(s) are installed.

As a place to start: If you have a computer that will only boot in safe
mode, you have a computer with issues. As a general starting procedure,
given the limited information provided, consider booting from your OS
distribution media and doing a repair install of the OS. Then, when the
computer will boot normally, see if the display issue is still present.
