Trying to install VS.NET 2003 Academic... I already have Visual Web Develpoer
and Visual Basic Express installed and working fine. When I put in my first
disc for 2003, it says I need prerequisites and then I put in that disc...
hit OK and the disc spins a little and the VS.NET Setup window goes away and
nothing else happens.
I'm working toward the MCAD certification and thought since the tests are
based on 2003, that's what I should use. Any ideas why this won't set up?
Turned off virus, spam and firewall software - computers got plenty of
horsepower...
Ok, solved that by looking in the knowledge base - now step 2 (install) does
the EXACT SAME THING!! I click step 2 and it sits there, then the setup
window just goes away... frustrating!

I am having the same problem... Which knowledge base article gave you a
solution?

Found the solution in KB891398. WinXP SP2 leaves behind a registry key.
