SQL Express Manager is a separate download. If you didn't download and
install Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2, you won't see Database Explorer.
Here's the link for SQL Express Manager:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=3212a9a2-b658-4710-b04e
-8a28355f836d&DisplayLang=en
Then, you'll need a book or other source to show you how to create and/or
import databases in your SQL Server instance.

Try logging on with .\SQLExpress
That should get you connected.
