DLL & Bin folder hell.

Hello,

I am praying someone can help me, and I will keep it as simple as I can.

I have three web sites, all created by a co-worker.  He zips the sites up
(excluding the bin directory), and passes them on to me.

I compile the three sites, and a DLL file is created inside the BIN folder.

I then add this DLL file via ADD REFERENCE to a new project based on very
similar code.

In my new project, no matter what changes I make, the DLL file will NEVER
recompile and seems to be stuck with the old code.  For example, if I change
a Checkbox to a DropDownList, I receive an error saying the Baseclass
contains a checkbox, yet the ASPX file contains a DropDownList.

In short, how do I get permission to overwrite the DLL file which was
compiled elsewhere by another user a part of another web site?

Thanks for any help,

Gary.

I don't see how you can expect an assembly to "recompile" when there is only
a hard reference to it in your project and no source code to reflect any
changes you've made in the page(s). The codebehind for the page(s) needs to
be able to recreate a new assembly.
Sounds like you need to add whatever project created it to your solution,
and have an Project reference.
