Has anyone ever experienced this problem?  When developing an ASP.NET
application, in design view if I attempt to change the name of control it
will automatically
revert back to the original name even if there is not another control with
the same name.  If I go into the Source View I can change it there and it
works fine.

Is that just a bug in the IDE?

Thanks.

Craig

Never had such problem.....
Plus you did not provide which version of IDE
There are at least 3 of them not including Express editions.

If you had said 2008 that would explain it. Cause that on is a little buggy
still...

VS 2005 is stable and I had not had problems with it.
The only reason I can come up with why it does not change ID would be is
that it can not.
When you doing something through "visual interface" VS parsing out the aspx
page and then writes it back.
I guess VS is failing to parse out your aspx page.
Can be numerous reasons. But the most common one is unclosed quotation
symbol somewhere.

George.
