how to export query data to excel

hi..

i have a query whereby i am currently putting the results in a
datagrid.now the requirements have changed, and i need to have a
separate button on clicking to which, I can put all the data of the
query into an excel file.

this page is a part of the website which is running locally in my
company ...its an intranet website not on the web or internet.

the data is being fetched from the database.

can anyone help me on this?
