Hi,

I am a total newbie and this is my very first web service. I want to
display a web page using my web service. Any idea how i can do this. I
tried the following code:

[WebMethod]
   public void Authenticate(string cardId){
       System.Web.UI.Page welcomePage = new System.Web.UI.Page();
       welcomePage.LoadControl("WelcomeScreen.aspx.cs");
    }

But its giving me server error 500. What can i do??

Because there's no Page's context-handler, no HtmlTextWriter etc...

btw, what's that you want to do? Why do you want to load a complete page
from a web service? It's not meant for this...

I think you first need to look at the basic philosophy behind using
web-services and also get yourself very thorough in ASP.Net and Web-Service
architecture in ASP.Net before jumping into writing web services.
