Hi Tim,
Did you install MS SQL 2000 Reporting Services? You will need it to
run/deploy any reports.
Also, did you try to deploy your reports to this
http://localhost/ReportServer/?
Let me know how it turns out.
Thanks

SQL Server 2000 reporting services uses .net 1.1, if you want to use
reposrting services on .net 2.0 I think you should install SQL 2005,
including it's reporing services!

I had a similar problem. I was attempting to install RS2000 on a W2k3 machine. I found that if .Net 2.0 was installed at all, RS would not install. I removed .Net 2.0 and installed RS2000.
In my environment, I had to have .Net 2.0 up for WSS. The way I overcame this was by setting up a seperate application pool for RS. Once that was done, I right clicked on the "Reports" and "ReportServer" entries in the "Default web site", accessed their properties, and assigned them to the new application pool. You can then go to the ASP tab for "Reports" and "Reporting Services" and assign them to .Net 1.1.
The problem is that multiple version of .Net cannot run in the same process (application pool). Once RS2000 is isolated into it's own application pool, you can safely install .Net 2.0 without hurting anyting.
Hope this helps,
Brian
