I wanted to use a web service and have the URL to the wsdl document. I used
add web reference and set the url. The error message was "The HTML document
does not contain web discovery information." I called the guy at the web
service and asked if everything was correct with the WSDL and he said yes.
Besides using that  URL, is there another way to load the web service methods
into my program?

I'm not sure if I understand your problem but if I do, then the solution is
to right click on the References section in the Project Explorer and choose
Add Web Reference.  Visual Studio will create a proxy to connect to the web
service for you.

I did that and got the error message referenced in my first post. The VS
seemed to be "doing it's thing" pretty well, but I got that error message.
The guy at the place where they had the web service said everything's A-OK
with the wsdl document. What else could be wrong? Thanks.

Get him to email it to you, and then Browse to it instead of typing in the
URL at the normal place.
