When you say you updated all the Windows Components, did you do so using the
Components Update CD that came with VS.NET?  Once you do that, the install
should go back to the point where you  can
install VS.NET itself.

Hi James,

Thanks for your reply. No I updated by windows update on the internet by
using "Start/Windows Update".

This is my first time with VS.Net. I just borrowed the CDs from a friend and
trying to install it. There are 6 CDs.
1,2,3 CDs with VB.Net and others are J#,Visio,SourceSafe. Are they enough to
install or do I need another CD with Components Update? Please clarify...

Thanks

Hi,

How do I get the trial version. I just wanted to test it and learn, and if
possible to get DotNet certificate.
