Output Control caching : can control be only set through GET/POST parameters ?

Vincent Cadoret - 09 Jul 2003 10:18 GMT
I have a page which includes a user control. The output of this control is
defined by an ID which is set through an accessor in the code-behind of my
page. I want to cache this control according to this ID. The problem is that
when I place an OutputCache directive in the control .ascx, I got an error
the second type I call the page in the code-behind when I try to set the ID
of the control through the accessor saying that there is no oinstance of my
control.

One solution of this pb is to pass the parameter to my control with a Get or
Post parameter and use a VaryByParam="ID" attribute. Is there another
possibility ? I set a lot of my controls using accessors.

Thanks.
